Integument's scientists working on a joint Bell-Boeing project in conjunction with the Naval Air Warfare Center at Patuxent River, Maryland, have developed a unique fluoropolymer based appliqué designed to protect composite aircraft and equipment from damage resulting from Environmental Electromagnetic Effects (E³) including damage incurred from direct lightning strikes. Fluoropolymer films can also be metallized, reinforced or treated to provide protection to vital components of aircraft.
